Google Photos has introduced six new AI-powered tools to make editing and searching photos easier and more intuitive. The features use Google’s Gemini image model, Nano Banana, to understand natural-language commands.
The “Help Me Edit” feature allows users to type or speak instructions like “remove sunglasses” or “make someone smile,” and the app automatically applies the edits. The redesigned editor also supports creative commands such as “make this look like a children’s storybook page.”
Under the “Create with AI” section, users can generate professional or fun content, like high-fashion photoshoots or polished headshots, simply by describing what they want.
The “Ask Photos” feature lets users search their photo library by typing or speaking queries such as “show me photos from London” or “find the picture with my dog.” This feature is now available in 17 languages across over 100 countries.
The update is rolling out on Android, iOS, and web, making Google Photos not just a storage app but a smart, creative hub that understands natural-language commands.
