Avatar: Fire and Ash to premiere worldwide

James Cameron’s Avatar returns with stunning Pandora spectacle, Rajamouli praises visuals

Avatar: Fire and Ash, the third film in James Cameron’s Avatar franchise, is set to release globally on December 19, 2025, including in India. The film continues the saga of Jake Sully, Neytiri, and new Na’vi clans on Pandora.

Indian filmmaker SS Rajamouli praised the movie’s visuals, emotional depth, and action sequences, calling it a cinematic spectacle that captivates from start to finish.

The film has already generated significant box-office buzz. Industry analysts project an opening weekend of around $100 million globally, with strong pre-release ticket sales in North America, Europe, and India. Cameron’s previous Avatar films hold some of the highest-grossing records in cinematic history, and expectations for this sequel are similarly high.

In India, the movie received a U/A certificate without cuts, making it accessible to audiences aged 16 and above. Returning cast members include Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldaña, Stephen Lang, and Sigourney Weaver, along with new Na’vi characters adding fresh dynamics to Pandora’s story.

Cameron also hinted at potential future sequels but indicated he may explore other projects depending on audience reception. His interaction with Rajamouli highlights a growing Hollywood-India creative connection.

Avatar: Fire and Ash is expected to perform strongly at the global box office, with India seen as a key market in its opening week.
