India has achieved three Guinness World Records for its massive public health campaign, Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan (SNSPA), which focused on women’s health and family well-being. Conducted by the Union Health Ministry from September 27 to October 2, 2025, the initiative mobilised millions across states, blending digital innovation with grassroots outreach.
The records recognised India for the highest number of health-platform registrations in a month with over 3.21 crore people. This is the largest number of online breast-cancer screening pledges in a week, nearly 9.94 lakh women and the highest online registrations for vital-signs screening within a week at the state level, exceeding 1.25 lakh participants.
The Abhiyaan launched during Poshan Maah (Nutrition Month), organised over 19.7 lakh health camps, drawing more than 11 crore participants. The effort saw unprecedented collaboration between over 20 ministries, medical colleges, state governments, NGOs, and local bodies. Panchayat representatives, self-help groups, and students contributed to the drive, reinforcing the campaign’s message, a healthy woman is the cornerstone of a healthy family.
The health outcomes were equally striking. Nearly 1.78 crore people were screened for hypertension, 1.73 crore for diabetes, and over 69 lakh for oral cancer. Millions of women underwent antenatal check-ups, anaemia testing, and vaccination. The campaign also included counselling and wellness sessions for more than 2.14 crore participants.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the achievement, saying, “When women are healthy and empowered, families and nations thrive.” Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya also added that the records reflect India’s evolving model of community-driven, digitally-enabled preventive healthcare.
The initiative’s success highlights a major stride toward Viksit Bharat 2047, positioning women’s health at the heart of India’s development story.
