India’s External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar held talks with the US Secretary of State Marco Rubio during the G7 foreign ministers’ meeting in Canada. The meeting highlighted the growing partnership between the two countries.
The leaders discussed key issues including trade, supply-chain resilience, and strategic cooperation in the Indo‑Pacific region. They also touched upon global challenges such as the conflict in Ukraine and tensions in the Middle East.
Mr. Rubio expressed condolences over the recent Delhi blast, to which Mr. Jaishankar acknowledged. The discussion underlined both countries’ interest in strengthening economic and security ties amid changing global dynamics.
India used the G7 gathering to advocate for closer collaboration on trade, maritime security, energy, and critical minerals, reflecting its increasing role on the global stage.
The meeting marks another step in deepening India-US relations, focusing on shared priorities of stability, security, and sustainable economic growth.
