Mumbai Police have summoned social media influencer Orhan “Orry” Awatramani in connection with a ₹252 crore drug case. He is asked to appear before the city’s Anti‑Narcotics Cell (ANC) at Ghatkopar.
The case relates to a March 2024 seizure of 126.14 kg of mephedrone from a Sangli farm in Maharashtra. The synthetic drug’s estimated value is around ₹252 crore.
Authorities intensified the investigation after a trafficker, Mohammad Salim Suhail Shaikh, deported from Dubai, claimed he organised rave parties in Mumbai and Dubai attended by celebrities and influencers, including Orry.
Police documents list several public figures allegedly present at these parties: actors Shraddha Kapoor, Nora Fatehi, the Abbas‑Mustan duo, rapper Loka, Orry, and politician Zeeshan Siddique. The ANC is currently verifying these claims, checking digital records, communications, and financial trails.
Orry has not been formally charged yet. A senior ANC officer said that his statement may lead to more celebrities being summoned for questioning.
This is not Orry’s first controversy. In early 2024, he was booked by Jammu & Kashmir police for allegedly consuming alcohol near the Vaishno Devi shrine, where drinking is prohibited.
The ANC will record Orry’s testimony to clarify his role, if any, in the high-value synthetic drug operation, which continues to be a major focus of Mumbai Police.
