Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday to discuss the latest developments in West Asia. The phone call focused on regional security and the ongoing situation in Gaza, as well as broader issues affecting the Middle East.
The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) in New Delhi said that PM Modi stressed India’s support for efforts to achieve a “just and lasting peace” in the region. He highlighted the importance of implementing the Gaza Peace Plan, which aims to bring about a ceasefire and create conditions for a longer-term resolution of the conflict.
Both leaders expressed satisfaction with the strong India‑Israel relationship and the progress of their strategic partnership. They noted cooperation across several areas, including defence, technology, trade, and security. The conversation emphasized the value of high-level dialogue in addressing shared challenges and further strengthening bilateral ties for mutual benefit.
Counter-terrorism was also a key topic. Both PM Modi and PM Netanyahu condemned terrorism in all its forms and reaffirmed a zero-tolerance approach. This reflects the long-standing security and intelligence collaboration between the two countries.
The leaders agreed to stay in close contact as developments unfold in West Asia and said they plan to meet “very soon” to review the partnership and explore more ways to work together. Their discussion underlined the importance of coordination and timely communication in responding to regional challenges.
The phone call comes at a time when global attention is focused on maintaining stability in the Middle East. India’s stance highlights its approach of supporting peaceful solutions while maintaining strong bilateral relations. By advocating for dialogue and humanitarian consideration, India continues to play an active role in promoting regional stability.
