RNFI Services Ltd, in collaboration with Jio Payments Bank, has introduced a cardless cash withdrawal service powered by UPI QR codes, expanding access to cash across India without the need for debit cards or ATMs.
The service is available through RNFI’s wide network of business correspondent outlets, where customers can withdraw cash using any UPI-enabled app. Users simply scan a QR code at the outlet, enter the desired amount, and authorise the payment with their UPI PIN. After successful verification, the retailer provides the cash, completing the transaction instantly.
The initiative is aimed at improving access to cash in underserved areas, particularly in rural and semi-urban regions where ATM infrastructure may be limited. By using the already popular UPI system, the service makes cash withdrawals easier and more familiar for users who regularly rely on digital payments.
According to the companies, the solution is designed to be secure, fast, and convenient, eliminating the need for physical cards or biometric verification. This makes it especially useful for users who may face difficulties with traditional banking methods or lack access to ATMs.
To ensure safe usage, limits have been introduced. Customers can withdraw up to ₹5,000 per transaction, with a daily limit of ₹10,000 and a monthly cap of ₹50,000. These safeguards help maintain control while still offering flexibility.
RNFI said the service addresses a key gap, as cash continues to play an important role in everyday transactions despite the rapid growth of digital payments. By combining its merchant network with Jio Payments Bank’s digital capabilities, the company aims to strengthen last-mile financial services.
