Lando Norris wins 2025 Brazilian Grand Prix

The McLaren driver dominates São Paulo as Antonelli earns first podium

Lando Norris delivered a commanding performance at the 2025 Brazilian Grand Prix in São Paulo, winning from pole position and strengthening his lead in the Formula 1 drivers’ championship. The McLaren driver led the race from start to finish, handling tricky damp track conditions and light drizzle with composure.

Rising star Kimi Antonelli secured second place, earning his first Formula 1 podium, while Max Verstappen fought back from a pit‑lane start to finish third. The race saw early drama when local driver Gabriel Bortoleto crashed on lap two, prompting a safety car. Charles Leclerc retired after losing a wheel, and Norris’s teammate Oscar Piastri received a 10‑second penalty for causing a collision, finishing fifth.

With this win, Norris now holds a 24‑point lead over Piastri in the championship, while Verstappen remains 49 points behind despite his impressive recovery. The Brazilian Grand Prix has reshaped the title race, giving Norris a significant advantage and shining a spotlight on Antonelli’s breakthrough performance.
