PM Modi Inaugurates Projects Worth ₹13,430 Crore in Andhra Pradesh

In the industrial sector, PM Modi inaugurated the Orvakal Industrial Area in Kurnool and the Kopparthy Industrial Area in Kadapa, with a combined investment of over ₹4,920 crore

Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh, on Wednesday to inaugurate and lay the foundation for multiple development projects valued at approximately ₹13,430 crore. His visit commenced with a spiritual stop at the Sri Bhramaramba Mallikarjuna Swamy Varla Devasthanam in Srisailam, Nandyal district, where he performed pooja and darshan, accompanied by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Governor S. Abdul Nazeer, and Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan.

Following the temple visit, the Prime Minister proceeded to Kurnool, where he addressed a public gathering and launched several key initiatives across various sectors. In the power transmission sector, he laid the foundation for the Kurnool-III Pooling Station transmission system strengthening project, valued at ₹2,880 crore. This project includes the construction of a 765 KV double-circuit transmission line from Kurnool-III Pooling Station to Chilakaluripeta, aiming to increase transformation capacity by 6,000 MVA and facilitate large-scale transmission of renewable energy.

In the industrial sector, PM Modi inaugurated the Orvakal Industrial Area in Kurnool and the Kopparthy Industrial Area in Kadapa, with a combined investment of over ₹4,920 crore. Developed jointly by the National Industrial Corridor Development and Implementation Trust (NICDIT) and the Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation Ltd (APIIC), these modern, multi-sectoral industrial hubs are expected to attract ₹21,000 crore in investments and generate approximately one lakh jobs, boosting industrial growth and global competitiveness in the Rayalaseema region.

The Prime Minister also laid the foundation stone for a six-lane Greenfield Highway from Sabbavaram to Sheelanagar, a project worth over ₹960 crore, aimed at easing congestion in Visakhapatnam and facilitating trade and employment. Additionally, six other road projects totaling around ₹1,140 crore were inaugurated, including the four-laning of the Pileru–Kalur section and improvements to various national highways.

In the railway sector, PM Modi laid the foundation for the Kottavalasa–Vizianagaram Fourth Railway Line and a rail flyover between Pendurti and Simhachalam North. He also dedicated to the nation the doubling of the Kottavalasa–Boddavara and Shimiliguda–Gorapur sections. These projects, valued at over ₹1,200 crore, aim to reduce congestion, ensure faster and safer journeys, and promote industrial, trade, and tourism growth across the region.

In the energy sector, the Prime Minister dedicated the Srikakulam–Angul Natural Gas Pipeline of GAIL India Limited, spanning approximately 422 km and built at a total cost of around ₹1,730 crore. He also inaugurated Indian Oil’s 60 TMTPA LPG bottling plant at Chittoor, established at an investment of around ₹200 crore, aimed at ensuring a reliable LPG supply for households and businesses in Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka.

To strengthen defence manufacturing, PM Modi dedicated the Advanced Night Vision Products Factory at Nimmaluru, Krishna district, established by Bharat Electronics Limited at an investment of around ₹360 crore. The facility will manufacture advanced electro-optical systems for the Indian Defence Forces, reinforcing self-reliance in defence production and promoting skilled employment in the region.

The Prime Minister’s visit highlights the government’s focus on enhancing regional infrastructure, accelerating industrialisation, and driving inclusive socio-economic growth across Andhra Pradesh.
