Tensions within the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) have come into focus after Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha responded to criticism from the party’s Punjab unit.
The issue began when some Punjab AAP leaders questioned Chadha’s performance, alleging that he had not raised enough state-related issues in Parliament despite representing Punjab. The remarks sparked a public debate within the party.
Responding to the criticism, he released a video highlighting his work in the Rajya Sabha. The video included clips of his speeches where he spoke on matters concerning Punjab, such as farmers’ issues, development, and other regional concerns.
Along with the video, Chadha delivered a strong message, saying Punjab is not just a political subject for him but his “soul.” He also added the phrase “picture abhi baaki hai,” indicating that there may be more to come in response to the allegations.
Chadha rejected the claims made against him, calling them misleading and politically driven. He suggested that some leaders may have been pressured into making such statements, hinting at internal differences within the party.
The development comes at a time when reports of friction within AAP have been surfacing. His recent removal from a key parliamentary role had already raised questions about his position within the party.
Despite the criticism, Chadha maintained that he remains committed to Punjab and its people. He said his work in Parliament reflects his dedication and cannot be overlooked.
The controversy has drawn attention to possible divisions within the party, particularly in Punjab, where AAP is currently in power. Leaders on both sides have held firm to their positions, making the issue more prominent.
