Uncertainty over the next Quad leaders’ meeting has triggered fresh discussions about the future of the strategic grouping as regional geopolitical developments continue to evolve.
The Quad, which includes India, United States, Japan and Australia, has in recent years expanded cooperation across areas such as security, technology, infrastructure and supply chains. However, there is currently no clear timeline for the next leaders’ summit, leading to speculation about the grouping’s immediate roadmap.
The discussion comes as cooperation among Quad members in the Indo-Pacific region continues to strengthen. China has reacted to these developments by opposing what it described as exclusive regional groupings and has repeatedly argued against alliances that could create divisions.
At the same time, India and the United States are also strengthening ties in strategic sectors, including critical minerals. Such partnerships are becoming increasingly important as countries look to reduce dependence on limited supply chains and secure key resources needed for technology, electronics and clean energy sectors.
