iPhone 18 Pro, Pro Max go on sale in India

Apple’s latest Pro phones arrive with upgraded cameras, A20 Pro chip, AI features and up to 2TB storage

Apple’s iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max are now available for purchase in India, following the opening of pre-orders last week. The latest Pro models can be bought through Apple’s online store, Apple Stores and authorised retailers across the country.

The iPhone 18 Pro starts at ₹1,64,900 for the 256GB variant, while the iPhone 18 Pro Max is priced from ₹1,79,900. Both models are offered with 256GB, 512GB, 1TB and 2TB storage options.

The highest-end version, the iPhone 18 Pro Max with 2TB storage, costs ₹3,29,900. The 2TB iPhone 18 Pro is priced at ₹3,14,900.

Apple is offering the phones in four finishes — Black, Silver, Glacier and Burgundy. The new Burgundy option is among the most noticeable additions to the lineup.

Apple and participating retailers have introduced several offers for customers buying the new iPhone 18 Pro models.

Eligible buyers can receive up to ₹7,000 cashback through selected bank cards. No-cost EMI options are also available on eligible purchases, while customers exchanging an older smartphone can get an additional reduction depending on the device and its condition.

Retailers are offering separate exchange benefits. Some have announced additional exchange bonuses, allowing customers to bring down the effective price of the new iPhone.

Apple’s trade-in programme also allows buyers to exchange eligible older iPhones and other smartphones. The final trade-in value depends on the model, storage capacity and condition of the device.

Photography remains one of the main areas of focus with the iPhone 18 Pro series.

Both models feature a new 48MP Fusion Main camera with a variable aperture. The system allows the camera to adjust the amount of light entering the lens, giving users greater flexibility in different lighting conditions.

The variable aperture also gives photographers more control over depth of field. Apple has added additional controls for users who want to make manual adjustments rather than relying entirely on automatic settings.

The phones also bring expanded Photographic Styles, including greater control over texture and grain. These features are aimed at users who want to customise the look of photographs directly from the phone.

Video recording has received upgrades as well, strengthening the Pro models’ appeal to content creators and users who regularly shoot high-quality footage on their smartphones.

The iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max are powered by Apple’s new A20 Pro chip. The processor is designed to improve overall performance while handling demanding tasks such as gaming, video editing and artificial intelligence applications.

Apple has also introduced a new thermal management system. The improved cooling design is intended to help the phones maintain performance during extended periods of heavy use.

The combination of the new processor and thermal system is particularly important for users who use their phones for intensive applications rather than basic everyday tasks.

Battery life is another major highlight of the new iPhone generation.

Apple says the iPhone 18 Pro Max delivers its biggest battery-life improvement yet among iPhone Pro models. The company attributes the improvement to a larger battery, greater power efficiency and changes to the internal design.

Fast charging has also been improved. Apple says the iPhone 18 Pro can reach 50% charge in about 15 minutes with wired charging under supported conditions.

The Pro Max can deliver several hours of additional video playback after a short charging session, according to Apple’s testing.

The iPhone 18 Pro series comes with iOS 27 and the latest Apple Intelligence features.

The company is expanding AI capabilities across the iPhone, including new Siri functions designed to understand more natural requests and use information from what is displayed on the screen.

Some of the features are being introduced in beta, and availability can differ depending on the region and language.

Apple continues to emphasise on-device processing and privacy as key elements of its approach to artificial intelligence.

The launch also comes at a time when India is becoming increasingly important to Apple’s manufacturing plans.

Pro models assembled in India are being supplied not only to the domestic market but also to overseas markets. The expansion reflects Apple’s wider effort to increase production capacity outside China.

The development is significant for India’s electronics manufacturing sector, with Apple and its manufacturing partners increasing their presence in the country.

With the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max now on sale, Indian buyers can choose between four storage capacities, multiple finishes and a range of exchange and financing offers.

The new generation puts particular emphasis on camera control, processing power, battery performance and Apple’s expanding AI ecosystem, while the Pro Max remains the higher-priced option aimed at users seeking the largest display, battery and storage configuration.
