Bihar minister Nitin named BJP working President

45‑year‑old MLA becomes youngest leader in BJP history to hold the post

Bihar minister Nitin Nabin has been appointed as the National Working President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), a key organisational position in the party. The decision was made by the BJP’s Parliamentary Board and is effective immediately. The appointment is seen as a strategic move by the party to strengthen its leadership with younger leaders and boost organisational readiness ahead of upcoming elections.

At 45, Nitin Nabin is one of the youngest leaders to hold this position in the BJP’s history. He has been elected five times as the MLA from Bankipur constituency in Patna. Currently, he serves as a cabinet minister in the Bihar government, managing the Road Construction and Urban Development portfolios. His political journey reflects both administrative experience and deep engagement with grassroots party work.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Nitin Nabin on social media, calling him a hardworking and experienced leader with a strong track record as a legislator and minister. BJP national president J. P. Nadda also extended his best wishes, describing Nabin as a dynamic party leader who would contribute significantly to organisational strengthening.

Nitin Nabin comes from a political family; his father, Nabin Kishore Prasad Sinha, was a veteran BJP leader and a former MLA. Nabin’s political career began in youth politics, and he has held several key roles within the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), the BJP’s youth wing. He has also been entrusted with organisational responsibilities in other states during election campaigns, reflecting the party’s trust in his leadership and strategic abilities.

Party analysts say Nabin’s elevation to working president is part of a larger effort to bring younger leaders into central organisational roles, ensuring continuity, innovation, and energy in the party’s operations. With the BJP preparing for crucial state and national elections, leaders like Nitin Nabin are expected to play a pivotal role in mobilising cadres, strengthening state units, and supporting electoral strategies.

This appointment signals the BJP’s focus on youthful, energetic leadership while balancing experience and organisational knowledge. Nitin Nabin’s combination of administrative expertise, political lineage, and party experience positions him as a key figure in shaping the BJP’s future direction at both state and national levels.
