Bomb threat emails target Ahmedabad schools

Bomb squad deployed. Investigations ongoing at Ahmedabad schools

Ahmedabad schools received bomb threat emails on Wednesday morning, prompting a swift security response. The Zydus School of Excellence in Vejalpur was the first to report the email, followed by alerts from several other schools across the city.

Authorities deployed local police teams, the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS), Special Operations Group (SOG), and fire brigade to each campus. Students were evacuated to open grounds while security personnel, including dog squads, conducted thorough searches of classrooms, corridors, and surrounding areas. At the time of reporting, no explosives or suspicious objects were found.

Other schools that reportedly received threatening emails include Nirman High School (Vastrapur), Zebar School for Children, Agrasen School, DAV International School, Divine School (Adalaj), and Avishkar School (Kalol). Parents gathered at the campuses expressing concern for their children, while authorities urged calm and cooperation.

Police have launched an investigation to trace the origin of the emails and determine whether the threats are genuine or hoaxes. This incident adds to a series of recent security alerts in the city, highlighting the importance of vigilance.

Investigations are ongoing, and officials will share updates as new information emerges.
