JioHotstar launches flexible monthly subscriptions

Plans start at Rs. 79 as OTT platform expands payment choices

JioHotstar has expanded its subscription offerings by introducing monthly plans across its Mobile, Super and Premium tiers, making it easier for users to subscribe without long-term commitments. The new pricing model will come into effect from January 28, 2026, and applies only to new subscribers.

The entry-level Mobile plan, costing Rs. 79 per month, is designed for individual users who stream primarily on smartphones. It supports one device and includes advertisements. Hollywood content is excluded from the base plan but can be unlocked with an additional monthly fee.

The Super plan, now available at Rs. 149 per month, allows streaming on two devices at the same time and includes the complete content catalogue. While ads continue on this tier, it is positioned for families or users who watch across multiple screens.

At the top end, the Premium plan is priced at Rs. 299 per month. It offers 4K video quality, simultaneous viewing on up to four devices, and an ad-free experience for most content, excluding live programming.

According to the platform, the new monthly options are part of its strategy to adapt to evolving consumption habits and give viewers more control over how and when they pay. Existing subscribers will not see any changes to their current plans or pricing, reinforcing continuity while opening the door for new users seeking flexibility.
