India and the United States are looking to strengthen their ties, with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio set to visit India next month following high-level talks in Washington.
Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri met Rubio during his recent visit to the US. The meeting focused on improving cooperation between the two countries in important areas like trade, defence, and technology. Officials described the talks as positive and forward-looking.
Both sides also discussed the Quad partnership, which includes India, the US, Japan, and Australia. The grouping plays a key role in maintaining stability and cooperation in the Indo-Pacific region.
The leaders reviewed progress in their relationship and explored ways to expand it further. They also spoke about global challenges such as geopolitical tensions, supply chain issues, and regional security concerns.
Rubio’s upcoming visit to India is expected to build on these discussions. It will give both countries a chance to take forward plans in sectors like defence, critical minerals, and emerging technologies.
During his US visit, Misri also met other senior officials and policy experts. These meetings focused on strengthening long-term cooperation and dealing with global economic and security challenges together.
India and the US have been working more closely in recent years, especially in areas like defence, trade, and technology. The latest talks and Rubio’s planned visit show that both countries want to continue building a stronger partnership.
