Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s dream IPL season ended on a historic note as the 15-year-old Rajasthan Royals batter swept three of the tournament’s biggest honours — the Orange Cap, Most Valuable Player (MVP) award and Emerging Player of the Season award.
The teenage sensation was the standout performer of IPL 2026, scoring an impressive 776 runs in 16 innings to finish as the tournament’s highest run-getter. His explosive batting was reflected in an extraordinary strike rate of 237.31, making him one of the most exciting players of the season.
Sooryavanshi also created history by becoming the first player to win both the MVP and Emerging Player awards in the same IPL season. His fearless approach and ability to dominate bowlers consistently made him a fan favourite and one of the most talked-about cricketers in the competition.
Although Rajasthan Royals fell short of reaching the final, Sooryavanshi’s performances remained one of the biggest highlights of the tournament. Whether facing pace or spin, he scored freely and stayed ahead of his rivals in the race for the Orange Cap throughout the season.
His remarkable campaign has drawn comparisons with some of the finest breakthrough performances in IPL history. At just 15, he has already established himself as one of the brightest young talents in Indian cricket.
Speaking about his journey, Sooryavanshi recently revealed that his passion for cricket was inspired by stories of Indian batting legend Sunil Gavaskar, which he often heard from his father while growing up.
While IPL 2026 produced several memorable performances, Sooryavanshi’s dominance with the bat ensured he remained in the spotlight from start to finish.
