23 ministers inducted to Tamil Nadu cabinet

Alliance partners get a larger role in the expanded state cabinet

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay expanded his cabinet on Friday, inducting 23 new ministers aimed at strengthening the state government and giving greater representation to alliance partners. The expansion is being seen as an important political step as the new administration works to balance governance and coalition politics.

The swearing-in ceremony took place in Chennai, where the new ministers took the oath of office and secrecy in the presence of senior leaders and government officials. The expansion significantly increases the size of the council of ministers and brings more regional and political representation into the government.

One of the key developments in the expansion was the inclusion of leaders from alliance parties. The move marks the return of the Indian National Congress to the Tamil Nadu government after nearly 59 years, making it a significant moment in the state’s political landscape.

The cabinet also includes members from other supporting parties that played an important role in helping the government come to power. Political observers believe the decision reflects an effort to maintain stronger coordination within the alliance and ensure wider participation in decision-making.

Political experts believe a larger and more inclusive cabinet could help the government improve coordination among allies while addressing key issues across different parts of the state.
