US nears goals in Iran conflict, hints Trump

Hints at scaling down operations but rules out ceasefire for now

US President Donald Trump has said the United States is close to achieving its goals in the ongoing conflict with Iran, raising hopes that the fighting could ease in the coming weeks.

Speaking about the situation, Trump said the US has made strong progress and may soon begin winding down military operations. However, he ruled out any immediate ceasefire, stressing that action will continue until the country’s objectives are fully achieved.

The conflict, which began earlier this year, has seen heavy fighting and rising tensions between the two sides. The US has been trying to weaken Iran’s military strength and limit its nuclear ambitions. Iran, on the other hand, says it has stood firm and resisted US pressure, showing how far apart both sides remain.

Trump also pointed to the Strait of Hormuz, a key route for global oil shipments, suggesting that the US may reduce its role in securing it. Any disruption in this region can affect fuel prices worldwide, making the conflict a global concern, not just a regional one.

The situation has already started to impact global markets, especially oil prices, which tend to rise when tensions increase. Despite talk of progress, military activity continues, and uncertainty remains high.

Experts say Trump’s comments signal a possible shift towards de-escalation, but caution that the conflict is far from over. Without a ceasefire and with both sides holding firm positions, tensions could continue for some time.
