3 held in Buxar over PM security threat

Police probe suspected plot, devices seized, suspects questioned

Three people have been detained in Bihar’s Buxar district after police received inputs about a possible threat to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s security. Officials said the arrests were made after intelligence alerts flagged suspicious activity linked to a potential breach.

A special police team was quickly formed to investigate the matter. The suspects were picked up from areas under the Simri police station limits and are currently being questioned. Police have not revealed full details about them yet, as the investigation is still underway.

According to officers, the case began when a 22-year-old cyber café operator allegedly sent an electronic message that raised concerns about the Prime Minister’s safety. Acting on this, police raided his residence and seized electronic devices, including laptops, for further examination. His room has been sealed to protect possible evidence.

Senior officials said the focus is now on understanding whether the message was a serious threat or a hoax. Investigators are also trying to find out if the accused were working alone or had connections with others.

Bihar’s top police officials confirmed the detentions and said the case is being examined from all angles. They added that more clarity will emerge after forensic analysis of the seized devices and detailed questioning of the suspects.

Police sources also indicated that the main accused may have been involved in a similar incident in the past, when he was a minor. However, officials have not confirmed any direct link yet.
