Puducherry has delivered a clear verdict in favour of political continuity, with early results showing the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) firmly on course to retain power in the Union Territory. The ruling alliance, led by Chief Minister N. Rangaswamy, has maintained a strong lead across multiple constituencies as counting progresses.
From the outset of counting, the NDA has shown consistent strength across Puducherry, Karaikal, Mahe, and Yanam. The performance suggests steady voter support for the alliance’s governance record and leadership, with no major disruption in the overall electoral pattern.
Chief Minister N. Rangaswamy has successfully retained his seat, reinforcing his position at the centre of the alliance’s mandate. His win is being viewed as a key indicator of continued public confidence in his leadership and administrative approach.
Another important result has come from Mannadipet, where BJP leader and Home Minister A. Namassivayam secured a decisive victory. His win strengthens the NDA’s overall position and highlights the BJP’s ability to maintain influence in select constituencies within the Union Territory.
The All India NR Congress (AINRC), the backbone of the NDA in Puducherry, has performed strongly in several rural and semi-urban constituencies. Combined with the BJP’s gains and support from alliance partners, the NDA has managed to maintain a comfortable advantage over its rivals.
On the other hand, the Congress-DMK alliance has struggled to convert its presence into a strong electoral performance. While it has managed wins in a few constituencies, it remains significantly behind the NDA in the overall tally.
High voter turnout has been recorded across the Union Territory, reflecting strong public participation in the democratic process. Issues such as local development, welfare delivery, infrastructure, and governance continuity appear to have played a major role in shaping voter choices.
