PM Modi inaugurates Dhyan Mandir in Bengaluru

He emphasized on mental wellness and called for wider adoption of natural farming

PM Narendra Modi inaugurated the new Dhyan Mandir at Art of Living Foundation headquarters in Bengaluru on Sunday, highlighting the importance of mental wellbeing and meditation in today’s fast-paced world.

Addressing a large gathering, Modi said rising stress and lifestyle pressures have made mental health a major concern globally. He urged people to include meditation, yoga and mindfulness practices in their daily lives to achieve emotional balance and inner peace.

The Prime Minister praised Art of Living founder Sri Sri Ravi Shankar for spreading awareness about meditation and wellness across the world. He said the newly inaugurated Dhyan Mandir would serve as a space for peace, reflection and spiritual growth.

During the event, Modi also encouraged the organisation to take a leading role in promoting natural farming across India. He said sustainable agricultural practices are important for improving soil health, reducing chemical usage and protecting the environment.

The Prime Minister launched several nationwide service initiatives linked to healthcare, rural development and social welfare during the programme. Senior spiritual leaders, government representatives and followers from different states attended the event.

Supporters and volunteers gathered in large numbers at the Bengaluru campus, where cultural performances and meditation sessions were also organised as part of the celebrations.

The Dhyan Mandir has been designed as a dedicated meditation and spiritual centre aimed at promoting wellness and mindfulness practices. Organisers said the facility would host meditation programmes, spiritual gatherings and community activities in the future.

Modi’s visit drew significant public attention as discussions around mental health and wellness continue to gain importance across the country. Observers said the Prime Minister’s focus on mental wellbeing reflected growing awareness about emotional health alongside physical fitness.

The event also highlighted the government’s increasing emphasis on traditional wellness practices such as yoga, meditation and natural living as part of a broader lifestyle and healthcare approach.
