Samsung starts refurbished Galaxy sales

Certified pre-owned Galaxy smartphones now available with official warranty in India

Samsung has launched its “Certified Re-Newed” programme in India, allowing customers to buy refurbished Galaxy smartphones directly from the company at lower prices.

The programme allows customers to purchase certified refurbished Galaxy devices through Samsung’s official channels, including its website and retail platforms. The company said the move is aimed at expanding access to premium smartphones at more affordable prices.

Samsung said all devices sold under the programme go through detailed refurbishment processes before being resold. These checks include hardware testing, software verification, battery inspection and factory reset procedures to ensure device quality and performance.

The company also confirmed that genuine Samsung components are used whenever repairs or replacements are required. Each smartphone will come with a one-year manufacturer warranty and after-sales support from Samsung service centres.

The programme currently covers selected smartphones from the Galaxy S25 series and Galaxy A-series lineup. Some premium models are reportedly being offered at prices significantly lower than their original retail value, attracting consumers looking for flagship devices at reduced cost.

India’s refurbished smartphone market has seen strong growth in recent years due to rising demand for affordable premium devices. Industry analysts said Samsung’s entry into the certified resale segment could improve trust and transparency in the market, where buyers often worry about product quality and warranty support.

The initiative supports sustainability efforts by encouraging reuse of electronic devices and reducing e-waste generation. Smartphone brands globally have increasingly focused on refurbishment and resale programmes as part of their environmental goals.

Samsung’s move is expected to intensify competition in India’s refurbished smartphone segment, especially among companies offering certified pre-owned devices through online and offline platforms.

Tech experts are of the opinion that the success of the programme could encourage more brands to launch similar certified resale models in India’s expanding secondary smartphone market.
