CM Yogi issues bakrid guidelines ahead of Eid

No road prayers or public animal sacrifice; security tightened across sensitive districts

Ahead of Bakrid, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed officials to strengthen security measures and ensure strict implementation of festival guidelines across the state.

During a review meeting, the chief minister instructed authorities to remain on high alert, particularly in sensitive districts, to ensure peaceful celebrations and maintain law and order. Police and district administrations have been asked to increase surveillance and closely monitor any situation that could create disturbances.

The state government has made it clear that animal sacrifice during Bakrid will not be allowed in public places. Officials said sacrifices can take place only at designated or traditionally approved locations, and any violation of the rules will invite strict action.

The administration also reiterated that namaz should be offered only at mosques and designated prayer grounds. Prayers on roads or other public spaces will not be permitted, with officials stating that public movement and traffic should not be affected during the festival.

Authorities have also been instructed to keep a close watch on illegal slaughter activities and ensure proper waste disposal after rituals to maintain cleanliness and public hygiene.

The directions are part of the state government’s preparations ahead of Bakrid, with the focus remaining on conducting celebrations peacefully while ensuring public order and safety.
