NEET paper setters isolated till June 21

No phones or internet access as NTA tightens security measures

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has placed the experts responsible for preparing the NEET-UG question paper under strict isolation until the completion of the re-examination process, according to reports. The move is aimed at preventing any possibility of a paper leak and ensuring the integrity of the medical entrance examination.

Under the special security protocol, paper setters have been kept in a secure location with no access to mobile phones, internet services or outside communication. They are expected to remain under lockdown until June 21, when the re-examination process is scheduled to conclude.

The decision comes amid heightened scrutiny of the NEET examination system following allegations of irregularities and paper leaks in previous years. Authorities have adopted stricter safeguards to restore confidence among students and parents and to ensure that examination materials remain confidential.

Reports indicate that the experts involved in preparing the question paper are being monitored throughout the period of isolation. Access to the secure facility is tightly controlled, and only authorised personnel are allowed entry. The paper-setting process is being conducted under enhanced security arrangements to eliminate the risk of unauthorised disclosure.

The re-examination is being held for a limited number of candidates affected by issues linked to the earlier test process. The NTA has maintained that extensive measures are being taken to ensure a fair and transparent examination.

Education authorities believe the lockdown protocol reflects the seriousness with which the agency is approaching exam security. Similar measures have been used in high-stakes examinations globally to protect the confidentiality of question papers.

The NEET-UG exam is one of India’s largest entrance tests, serving as the gateway to undergraduate medical courses across the country. Any breach of exam security can affect lakhs of aspirants and undermine trust in the selection process.
