Jannik Sinner continued his dominance on grass by defeating Alexander Zverev to successfully defend his Wimbledon men’s singles title, becoming the first Italian to win back-to-back championships at the All England Club.
The world No. 1 delivered another composed performance on Centre Court, overcoming Zverev in four sets to claim his second consecutive Wimbledon crown. Sinner’s powerful serving, accurate groundstrokes and calm temperament proved too much for the German, who was playing in his first Wimbledon final.
The opening set was closely contested, with both players holding serve comfortably before Sinner edged ahead at crucial moments. Zverev responded strongly to level the match, but the Italian quickly regained control with aggressive baseline play and consistent serving.
As the match progressed, Sinner raised his level further, dictating long rallies and forcing errors from Zverev. His movement around the court and ability to absorb pressure allowed him to dominate the key exchanges, eventually sealing the victory after more than three hours of high-quality tennis.
The triumph adds another Grand Slam title to Sinner’s growing collection and reinforces his position as the leading player in men’s tennis. Having already enjoyed an outstanding season, the 24-year-old has now successfully defended his Wimbledon crown, underlining his remarkable consistency on the biggest stage.
Zverev, meanwhile, produced an impressive run to reach his maiden Wimbledon final. Although he fell short in the title clash, the German earned praise for his fighting spirit and quality throughout the tournament, defeating several top-ranked opponents on his way to the championship match.
Speaking after the victory, Sinner thanked his team and the Wimbledon crowd for their support, describing the title defence as one of the most satisfying achievements of his career. He also praised Zverev for an outstanding tournament and expressed confidence that the German would have more opportunities to compete for the Wimbledon title.
The victory further strengthens Sinner’s grip on the world No. 1 ranking and extends his remarkable run in Grand Slam events. His ability to perform under pressure and adapt to different conditions has made him the player to beat on the ATP Tour.
With another Wimbledon trophy in hand, Sinner has once again confirmed his status as the dominant force in men’s tennis, while Zverev leaves London encouraged by his best-ever performance at the prestigious Grand Slam.
