Imran Khan “alive but mentally pressured” in jail, says sister

Sister Uzma Khanum says former PM is physically well but isolated, alleging psychological torture

Imran Khan’s sister, Uzma Khanum, met the former Pakistani Prime Minister in Adiala Jail on 2 December 2025, her first visit in several weeks. She said Khan is physically healthy. “Alhamdulillah, his health is fine,” she told reporters.

However, Khan is reportedly being kept in solitary confinement. He has very little contact with anyone, including family members or aides, and is allowed only short periods outside his cell. Uzma said he described his treatment as “mental torture.”

Uzma also blamed Pakistan’s army chief, Asim Munir, for Khan’s difficult conditions in jail.

In recent weeks, Khan’s family and lawyers had been repeatedly denied access, despite court orders for regular visits. The lack of contact had raised concerns about his wellbeing, and supporters protested outside the jail and courts demanding transparency.

This update removes all rumours around Imran Khan’s existence. He is alive and physically fine, but his claims of psychological pressure highlight ongoing concerns about human rights and the political tensions surrounding his imprisonment.
