Jio users get Canva Pro at no cost

Jio offers Canva Pro and Pro Lite free for 12 months with select recharge plans across India

Jio users looking to create better social media posts, presentations, videos or business content have a new benefit to look forward to. Reliance Jio has partnered with Canva to offer eligible customers free access to Canva Pro or Canva Pro Lite for up to 12 months.

The offer is available from September 16 and is linked to select Jio recharge plans. Depending on the plan, users can get either the full Canva Pro subscription or the more limited Pro Lite version without paying an additional subscription fee.

The companies say the benefit can be worth up to ₹4,000. It is aimed at making Canva’s premium design and AI-powered tools more accessible to students, content creators, professionals, entrepreneurs and small businesses.

The subscription a user receives depends on the Jio plan they have recharged with.

Customers on the ₹399 Jio prepaid plan will get Canva Pro for 12 months. This is the full premium version and comes with a wider range of design, editing and AI features.

Users on the ₹349 plan will receive Canva Pro Lite for 12 months. The same benefit also applies to eligible Jio plans priced above ₹349 that offer 2GB of daily high-speed data.

Canva Pro Lite includes several premium tools but does not offer the complete set of features available with Canva Pro. Users should therefore check the exact benefit linked to their Jio number before activating the offer.

The process is relatively simple and can be completed through the MyJio app.

Eligible users need to open MyJio and look for the Canva offer or banner. They can select it and follow the instructions to activate their subscription. Depending on the activation flow, users may be asked to verify their Jio number and sign in to or create a Canva account.

Once activated, the Canva subscription will be linked to the eligible offer. Jio and Canva have said there are no additional or hidden charges for the subscription provided under the offer.

The offer is being rolled out from September 16 across supported Jio recharge channels. Users should make sure they are using the latest version of the MyJio app if the Canva offer does not immediately appear.

Canva has become a popular tool for people who want to create professional-looking content without having advanced graphic-design skills.

The Canva Pro subscription gives users access to millions of premium templates, photos, videos and fonts. It also includes tools such as Background Remover, Magic Eraser and Magic Resize, which can make everyday editing considerably quicker.

The premium plan also includes Canva’s AI-powered creative features. These tools can help users generate and edit content, making the platform useful for everything from social media graphics and presentations to marketing material and promotional content.

The service can also be useful for people who regularly create content from their phones. A small business owner, for example, can use Canva to prepare promotional posts, while students can create presentations and project material without needing separate design software.

Canva Pro Lite is positioned as a more limited premium option.

Users still get access to premium templates, photographs, videos and fonts, along with features such as background removal and Magic Eraser. However, some advanced tools and usage limits are different from the full Canva Pro plan.

One difference is the Brand Kit. Pro Lite provides a basic Brand Kit with up to three kits, while Canva Pro offers up to five advanced Brand Kits. The full Pro version also provides features such as Content Planner, broader AI capabilities and higher usage limits for certain tools.

This means users on the ₹349 plan should not expect exactly the same experience as customers receiving Canva Pro through the ₹399 plan.

More support for Indian-language content

The Jio-Canva partnership is also aimed at making digital design more accessible to users who may not primarily work in English.

Canva supports content creation in Hindi and several Indian languages, allowing users to create social media posts, presentations, invitations and other visual content in languages they are more comfortable using.

The companies see the partnership as a way to bring premium design and AI tools to a much wider audience in India. Jio’s large customer base gives Canva an opportunity to reach users who may not otherwise subscribe to a paid design platform.

The Jio Canva Pro offer comes at a time when AI-powered design tools are becoming increasingly common in everyday content creation. Rather than relying on professional designers for every poster, presentation or social media graphic, users can now create and edit much of this content themselves.

Eligible Jio customers can begin claiming the benefit from September 16 through the MyJio app. The exact subscription — Canva Pro or Canva Pro Lite — will depend on the user’s qualifying recharge plan.

With the benefit available for up to a year at no extra cost, Jio users who already create digital content can use the offer to explore Canva’s premium design and AI features without taking on a separate subscription expense.
