Saudi Arabia reportedly carried out secret retaliatory strikes inside Iran during the recent escalation in West Asia, according to international media reports citing Western and Iranian officials.
The strikes were allegedly launched after Iranian missile and drone attacks targeted Saudi territory and key infrastructure during the broader regional conflict. While the operations were never publicly acknowledged, reports suggest Saudi Arabia quietly responded to the attacks as tensions in the region continued to rise.
If confirmed, the development would mark a rare and significant moment in the long-standing rivalry between the two regional powers, with Saudi Arabia reportedly striking Iranian soil directly for the first time.
The latest revelations come against the backdrop of growing instability in West Asia following recent military exchanges involving Iran, Israel and the United States. Several Gulf nations were reportedly placed on high alert during the conflict as fears of a wider regional war increased.
According to reports, Saudi Arabia chose not to publicly announce the operations in an effort to avoid further escalation and panic across the region. At the same time, diplomatic channels between Tehran and Riyadh reportedly remained active behind the scenes to prevent the conflict from spiralling further.
The alleged covert strikes highlight how fragile the security situation in the region has become, with countries increasingly balancing military responses alongside diplomatic efforts.
