5 burnt in car fire on Delhi-Mumbai expressway

Family returning from pilgrimage dies in Rajasthan blaze. Driver critically injured

A heartbreaking accident on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway in Rajasthan has claimed the lives of five people after their car suddenly caught fire while they were travelling late at night.

The incident took place in Alwar district when the vehicle, carrying a family returning from a pilgrimage, caught fire without warning. Within minutes, the flames spread rapidly, leaving the passengers trapped inside with no chance to escape.

All five occupants in the car died on the spot due to severe burn injuries. The victims included three women, a man, and a young girl. They were residents of Madhya Pradesh and were on their way back home after visiting the Vaishno Devi shrine.

The driver of the vehicle managed to escape from the burning car but suffered serious burn injuries. He was immediately taken to a nearby hospital and later shifted to Jaipur for further treatment. His condition is reported to be critical.

Emergency services rushed to the scene after receiving alerts. Firefighters managed to control the blaze, but by then the car had been completely destroyed. The intensity of the fire was so high that identifying the victims has become difficult, and authorities may need to conduct DNA tests to confirm their identities.

Initial reports suggest that the fire could have been caused by a technical fault, possibly linked to a short circuit or a fuel-related issue. However, officials have said that the exact cause will only be known after a detailed investigation.

The tragic incident has raised concerns about vehicle safety and emergency response on highways. Accidents involving fire can turn deadly within minutes, especially when vehicles are moving at high speed.
