Amazon rolls out AI store in India

Platform highlights real-world uses of AI features

Amazon has launched a dedicated AI Store in India, aiming to make it easier for customers to discover and understand the growing range of AI-powered devices.

The store brings together products like smartphones, laptops, TVs, and smart home devices, but its focus goes beyond just listing them. Instead, it tries to explain how artificial intelligence actually improves everyday usage, something many users still find confusing.

For example, laptops with AI capabilities can automatically optimise performance based on workload, while smartphones use AI for better photography, voice assistance, and on-device processing. Televisions can adjust picture and sound settings in real time depending on what you’re watching, and wearables can provide more personalised health tracking.

The idea is to shift the conversation from technical specifications to user experience. Rather than asking “how much RAM,” the platform nudges users to think about what the device can actually do for them.

This comes at a time when interest in AI-enabled gadgets is rising quickly. Searches for such devices have grown sharply, especially in categories like laptops and tablets. Notably, much of this demand is coming from non-metro cities, signalling wider adoption of advanced technology.

The AI Store also uses curated listings to reduce decision fatigue, helping users compare devices more easily. This is particularly relevant as AI becomes a key differentiator in electronics, rather than just an added feature.
