Film industry pays tribute to R.B. Choudary

Rajinikanth, Chiranjeevi and Vijay lead tributes as South cinema loses veteran producer

Veteran film producer R.B. Choudary’s death has triggered an outpouring of grief across the South Indian film industry, with several leading actors and filmmakers attending his funeral and sharing emotional tributes.

Choudary, 76, died following a road accident in Rajasthan while he was returning from a family event. His passing has been described as a major loss to the Indian film industry, especially in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam cinema.

His last rites were held in Chennai, where family members, close friends and several film personalities gathered to pay their final respects.

Superstar Rajinikanth and actor Chiranjeevi were among the prominent figures who expressed their condolences. Both actors remembered Choudary’s long-standing contribution to cinema and his role in producing several successful films over the years.

Actor Trisha also shared an emotional message, describing him as one of the kindest people she had worked with and recalling his warm nature and support for artists.

A particularly emotional moment at the funeral was seen when actor Vijay attended the ceremony. He was seen comforting actor Jiiva, Choudary’s son, who broke down during the final rites. The video of Vijay consoling Jiiva has widely circulated on social media and has moved fans.

Several other well-known actors, including Suriya, Dhanush and Mammootty, also visited the funeral to offer condolences and stand by the grieving family during the difficult time.

R.B. Choudary was the founder of Super Good Films and had produced numerous successful films across South Indian languages. He was also credited with supporting and launching the careers of many actors in the industry, including his son Jiiva.
