CBSE opens class 12 re-evaluation portal with Aadhaar

Students can apply online for re-evaluation services

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has opened the online portal for Class 12 students seeking re-evaluation of their 2026 board examination results. The board has also introduced Aadhaar-based identity verification as part of its revised post-result process aimed at improving transparency and efficiency.

Under the new system, students dissatisfied with their marks can apply through the official CBSE website for verification of marks, obtain photocopies of evaluated answer books and request re-evaluation of specific answers. The process is being conducted entirely online.

CBSE has revised the sequence of post-result activities this year. Students must first obtain a photocopy of their evaluated answer sheet before applying for verification of marks or re-evaluation. The board said this change will allow candidates to review their answer books and make informed decisions about whether to pursue further scrutiny.

As part of the updated procedure, students will be required to complete Aadhaar authentication while accessing re-evaluation services. CBSE clarified that Aadhaar submission is intended to streamline verification and ensure secure access to student records. Alternative identification mechanisms will also be available for candidates who do not possess Aadhaar.

According to the board, verification of marks involves checking whether all answers have been evaluated and whether marks have been correctly totaled and transferred. Re-evaluation, on the other hand, allows students to request a fresh assessment of specific answers after examining the photocopy of their answer sheet.

Applications can be submitted within the deadlines specified by CBSE, with separate fees applicable for each service. Students have been advised to carefully review the eligibility conditions, timelines and payment details before applying.

The board recently announced the Class 12 results, with lakhs of students across the country appearing for the examination. Following the declaration of results, many students seek verification or re-evaluation to address concerns regarding their scores.
