Samsung has expanded its Galaxy Book6 laptop range with a new 14-inch model aimed at users who want everyday performance, long battery life and access to Galaxy-connected features without paying for a premium laptop.

The new Samsung Galaxy Book6 starts at $799 in select markets. The company describes it as a more accessible addition to the Galaxy Book6 family, targeting students, professionals and everyday users who need a laptop for browsing, documents, video calls, multitasking and entertainment.

The laptop comes with a 14-inch WUXGA LCD display with a 1920 x 1200 resolution. The screen uses a 16:10 aspect ratio and offers 350 nits of brightness, along with an anti-reflective coating designed to make the display easier to view in brighter surroundings.

Under the hood, the Galaxy Book6 is available with Intel Core 3 and Core 5 processors, depending on the market and configuration. The processors are paired with Intel Graphics and an Intel NPU capable of up to 15 TOPS for artificial intelligence-related workloads.

Samsung is also putting considerable emphasis on Galaxy AI. The new laptop supports features such as AI Select, AI Cut Out and Note Assist. These tools are designed to simplify tasks such as finding information, removing backgrounds from images and summarising notes.

Users who already own Samsung Galaxy smartphones or tablets, will find the laptop’s connected features as one of its biggest attractions. Galaxy Book6 supports Quick Share, Storage Share, Multi Control, Second Screen, Nearby Devices and Link to Windows.

These features are designed to make it easier to move files between devices and continue working across screens. For example, Multi Control allows users to control compatible Galaxy devices using the laptop’s keyboard and mouse, while Second Screen can turn a compatible Galaxy Tab into an additional display.

Battery life is another major focus. Samsung claims the Galaxy Book6 can provide up to 25 hours of battery life on a single charge. The laptop has a 61.2Wh battery and supports 45W USB Type-C fast charging. Samsung says the battery can reach around 33 per cent charge in 30 minutes, giving users a quick way to add power before heading out.

The laptop is also designed to remain relatively portable. It measures 15.7mm in thickness and weighs around 1.35kg. It will be offered in Violet Silver and Gray colour options.

Samsung has provided a selection of ports for users who do not want to rely entirely on wireless accessories. The connectivity options include two USB Type-C ports, USB Type-A, HDMI 1.4 and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Wireless connectivity includes Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.4.

Memory and storage options vary by market. Samsung lists configurations with 8GB or 16GB of memory and storage options ranging from 256GB to 1TB SSD, although the US launch is set to offer 256GB and 512GB options. Specifications can differ between regions.

The Galaxy Book6 runs Windows 11, giving users access to Microsoft’s desktop operating system alongside Samsung’s own software and ecosystem features. This combination is increasingly important for laptop buyers as PC manufacturers look to integrate AI tools directly into everyday computing.

However, the lower price also means buyers should not expect the same hardware level as Samsung’s more expensive Galaxy Book6 Pro and Ultra models. The new laptop is designed primarily for routine computing rather than demanding professional workloads.

The positioning is clear. Samsung is trying to bring the Galaxy Book experience to a wider audience while retaining some of the features that make its laptops attractive to Galaxy smartphone users.

The company is also highlighting durability and after-sales support. Samsung says the Galaxy Book6 undergoes quality and durability testing, while Samsung Care+ is available in supported markets for coverage related to accidental damage, repairs and replacements.

The Galaxy Book6 will be available through Samsung’s website and Amazon in the US by October 5, with a starting price of $799.99. Samsung has said that availability will vary by market. The company has not announced India pricing for this particular new model.

The launch also adds another layer to Samsung’s broader Galaxy Book6 lineup, which already includes higher-end models such as the Galaxy Book6 Ultra, Pro and Edge. In India, Samsung’s existing Galaxy Book6 series was launched earlier this year with Intel Core Ultra Series 3 processors and a starting price of ₹1,27,990.

The new Galaxy Book6 could make sense if portability, battery life and ecosystem integration matter more than maximum processing power. Its 14-inch form factor, Intel processors, Galaxy AI features and cross-device tools give it a strong focus on everyday productivity.

Samsung’s latest laptop therefore takes a practical approach rather than chasing top-end specifications. By lowering the entry point while keeping Galaxy AI and connected-device features, the company is looking to make its Windows laptop experience accessible to more users.
