Adani Solar Ships 15,000 MW Modules Worldwide

With 70 % India-made modules, this record milestone drives the nation’s Atmanirbhar Bharat energy mission

Adani Solar, the solar manufacturing arm of the Adani Group, has shipped more than 15,000 megawatts of solar modules worldwide, reinforcing India’s clean energy transition and its goal of becoming a global manufacturing hub for renewables.

Of this total, 10 GW were supplied to domestic projects, while 5 GW were exported to international markets. The shipments, comprising nearly 28 million modules, are estimated to power around five million homes and offset nearly 60 million tonnes of carbon emissions annually. About 70 per cent of these modules were built using India-made solar cells, aligning with the government’s Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative to promote local production and energy independence.

With this achievement, Adani Solar has become the first Indian manufacturer to cross the 15 GW shipment mark and now ranks among the top 10 solar module producers globally, according to research firm Wood Mackenzie.

The company plans to expand its current annual manufacturing capacity from 4 GW to 10 GW in the next fiscal year, with an aim to double shipments over the coming years. This expansion will further strengthen India’s position as a reliable alternative to China in the global solar supply chain.

India’s solar manufacturing capacity is projected to exceed 125 GW by 2025, well above the estimated domestic demand of 40 GW, creating strong export opportunities and boosting employment across the green-energy sector.

Adani Solar’s milestone highlights India’s growing capability to lead in sustainable technologies. By integrating scale, innovation, and local value creation, the company continues to contribute to India’s target of achieving 500 GW of non-fossil fuel power capacity by 2030 and reducing its carbon footprint while driving inclusive economic growth.
