500 cars parade Dubai for UAE National day

Citizens and residents celebrate unity and pride in the 54th Eid Al Etihad

Dubai came alive on 2 December 2025 as more than 500 cars joined the Al Etihad Parade, marking the UAE’s 54th National Day. Part of the month-long National Month celebrations, the event turned Jumeirah Road into a vibrant tribute to the nation’s journey from its founding in 1971 to its modern achievements.

The parade started at Union House, where the UAE’s founding rulers signed the historic union agreement, and concluded at the iconic Burj Al Arab, symbolising the nation’s progress and development. Citizens and residents alike participated, showcasing their pride and love for the UAE. Over 1,000 UAE flags were distributed to participants by volunteers from the Community Development Authority (CDA), adding to the festive spirit.

Organised by Brand Dubai in collaboration with the Dubai Events Security Committee, the parade followed strict safety and traffic rules, ensuring a smooth and orderly event. Officials thanked volunteers, participants, and partner organisations for their support in making the parade a success.

The celebrations extended beyond Dubai. In Sharjah, a two-week series of events included parades, heritage shows, and cultural activities, encouraging families and communities to come together. Across the Emirates, authorities encouraged residents to join in singing the national anthem at 11:00 AM on 2 December, promoting unity and belonging among all citizens and expatriates.

The UAE also marked National Day with gestures of compassion. Thousands of prisoners were pardoned ahead of the celebrations, reflecting the country’s spirit of forgiveness and renewal. Public services were adjusted to facilitate the festivities, with free parking and extended public transport hours in cities like Dubai, making it easier for people to participate.

From cultural programs to community events, this year’s National Day emphasised unity, identity, and shared pride. The Al Etihad Parade, alongside nationwide celebrations, highlighted the UAE’s journey, achievements, and the collective sense of belonging among its people. For many, it was not just a day of festivity but a reminder of the nation’s shared history, values, and dreams for the future.
