The investigation into alleged misconduct at the Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) unit in Nashik has gathered pace, with police confirming that nine FIRs have been registered so far in connection with complaints from women employees.
According to officials, the cases involve serious allegations such as sexual harassment, coercion, and instances where relationships were allegedly used to pressure victims, including claims linked to religious conversion. So far, multiple accused, including some in senior positions, have been arrested, while efforts are on to trace at least one absconding suspect.
Police say early findings suggest the incidents may not have been isolated. Instead, investigators believe there could have been a pattern where certain employees were deliberately targeted, pointing to what they describe as a possible “organised” approach within the workplace.
Some of the complaints include harassment over extended periods, with victims alleging that the accused misused their roles or influence inside the company. In a few cases, both personal and religious pressure were reported, adding to the seriousness of the allegations.
The matter came to light after multiple complaints were filed over the past few weeks, prompting a deeper probe. Authorities are now examining communication records, workplace interactions, and other evidence to establish the full extent of the case.
While the Nashik Police are focusing on the criminal investigation, other agencies have been brought in to examine whether there are wider links or additional angles that need attention.
TCS, meanwhile, has suspended the employees named in the complaints and launched an internal inquiry, stating that it follows a strict zero-tolerance policy toward any form of workplace misconduct.
