Oppo is getting ready to launch its Find X10 series in China on September 22, and the Find X10 Pro Max is already drawing attention for one big reason — its cameras.
The flagship is expected to come with three 200MP rear cameras, a setup that could make it the first smartphone to put three 200MP sensors on the back. The cameras are tipped to include a main sensor, an ultra-wide lens and a periscope telephoto camera.
That means Oppo is not simply chasing bigger numbers. The idea is to offer high-resolution shooting across different types of photography, whether users are capturing a wide landscape, a portrait or a subject from a distance.
The move follows a growing race among smartphone brands to make their cameras feel more like dedicated photography equipment. Vivo’s X300 Ultra and Oppo’s Find X9 Ultra have already brought dual-200MP camera systems to the market. The Find X10 Pro Max could push that trend one step further.
Oppo is also expected to continue its partnership with Hasselblad for the new flagship. The collaboration is likely to focus on areas such as colour accuracy, image processing and portrait photography. Optical image stabilisation and large apertures could further help with sharper pictures, particularly when shooting in low light.
Video is shaping up to be another strong point. The phone is reportedly capable of 8K video recording and could support OpenGate recording and Dolby Vision. Support for O-Log2 and the Blackmagic Camera app could also appeal to creators who want more control over how their videos look.
A large battery is expected to complement all that camera hardware. The Find X10 Pro Max is tipped to feature an 8,000mAh battery, with support for 80W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. That should give heavy users more freedom to shoot, stream, game and work without constantly looking for a charger.
Under the hood, the phone is expected to use MediaTek’s Dimensity 9600 Pro processor. Reports also suggest configurations with up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage.
The camera focus is not limited to the Pro Max. The standard Find X10 is also expected to get two 200MP cameras, suggesting that Oppo wants photography to remain a defining feature across the series.
The company is also giving the Find X10 lineup a refreshed look, including a redesigned camera module. Reported colour choices include Moon White, Warm Orange, Ice Blue and Light Titanium.
The bigger question, however, is whether all those numbers will translate into noticeably better photos. A 200MP sensor can capture enormous amounts of detail, but the final image also depends on the sensor size, lenses, stabilisation and software processing.
That will make real-world performance more important than the headline specifications. If Oppo can make the three cameras work seamlessly across different lighting and zoom levels, the Find X10 Pro Max could have a genuine edge in the increasingly competitive flagship smartphone market.
Oppo is expected to reveal the complete specifications and pricing when the Find X10 series launches on September 22. Until then, the triple-200MP camera remains the feature most likely to put the Find X10 Pro Max on the radar of photography enthusiasts and tech buyers.
