Oppo F35 Series debuts in India

New Oppo phones pack 8,000mAh batteries and 50MP selfie cameras

Oppo has launched its new F35 series in India, bringing the Oppo F35 5G and Oppo F35 Pro 5G to the market with a major focus on battery life. Both smartphones feature an unusually large 8,000mAh battery, along with 80W fast charging and a 50MP front camera.

The new phones arrive as Oppo marks a decade of its F Series in India. With the latest models, the company is targeting users who want longer battery endurance without giving up camera features, display quality and 5G connectivity.

The Oppo F35 starts at ₹38,999, while the F35 Pro begins at ₹45,999. Both phones will be available in India from October 11 through Oppo’s online store, Flipkart, Amazon and authorised retail outlets.

Battery capacity is the biggest talking point of the new lineup. The 8,000mAh battery is designed to provide longer usage between charges, particularly for people who spend significant time watching videos, gaming, using social media or making video calls.

Both models support 80W SUPERVOOC fast charging, allowing the large battery to be replenished more quickly. Oppo has also highlighted battery longevity, claiming the battery can retain at least 80% of its capacity after six years under its testing conditions.

The company has also given considerable attention to selfies. Both smartphones come with a 50MP ultra-wide front camera with a 100-degree field of view and autofocus. The wider camera is aimed at group selfies and video calls, while Oppo’s imaging software is designed to produce more natural skin tones.

The F35 Pro offers more powerful hardware than the standard model. It comes with a 6.78-inch 1.5K AMOLED display supporting a 144Hz refresh rate. The display can reach up to 3,600 nits of peak brightness, which should make outdoor viewing easier.

The standard F35 has a slightly smaller 6.57-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The higher refresh rate on both phones is designed to make scrolling, animations and supported games appear smoother.

The F35 Pro is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7360 MAX chipset, while the F35 uses the Dimensity 6360 MAX processor. The Pro model is available with up to 8GB RAM and 256GB storage, while the standard version comes with up to 8GB RAM and 128GB storage.

Camera capabilities also differ between the two models. The F35 Pro features a 50MP primary rear camera with optical image stabilisation, paired with an 8MP ultra-wide camera. OIS can help reduce blur caused by hand movement and improve stability while recording video.

The standard F35 carries a 50MP primary rear camera alongside a 2MP secondary sensor. Its 50MP front camera remains one of the phone’s main selling points.

Durability is another area where Oppo has tried to give the F35 series an edge. Both smartphones carry IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K ratings, offering protection against dust and different levels of water exposure. Oppo has also strengthened the body to make the devices more suitable for everyday use.

The smartphones run ColorOS 16, based on Android, and include several AI-powered features. These include tools for improving document scans, recording and managing calls, as well as other everyday productivity functions.

The F35 Pro is available in three configurations. The 6GB RAM and 128GB storage variant costs ₹45,999, the 8GB and 128GB version is priced at ₹49,999, and the 8GB and 256GB model costs ₹54,999.

The standard F35 is priced at ₹38,999 for 6GB RAM with 128GB storage, while the 8GB RAM and 128GB storage version costs ₹42,999.

The launch comes as smartphone buyers increasingly look at practical features such as battery life, charging speeds, durability and software support alongside processor performance and camera specifications.

Oppo’s decision to put an 8,000mAh battery at the centre of the F35 series reflects that shift. Large batteries have become an increasingly important selling point in India’s smartphone market, particularly among users who rely on their phones throughout the day.

The F35 Pro adds several premium features, including the 144Hz AMOLED display, Dimensity 7360 MAX chipset and OIS-enabled rear camera. The standard F35 takes a more affordable approach while retaining the large battery, fast charging and 50MP selfie camera.

With prices ranging from ₹38,999 to ₹54,999, the new Oppo F35 series sits in a competitive segment of the Indian smartphone market. Its success will largely depend on whether the combination of 8,000mAh battery life, fast charging, cameras and durability offers enough value against rival 5G smartphones launching in the same price range.
