Arijit Singh announces 2027 India tour

Singer returns to live stage with nine-city tour celebrating 20 years

Arijit Singh is returning to the stage in a big way. The singer has announced a nine-city India tour for 2027, marking his first major nationwide concert tour since he announced his decision to step away from accepting new playback singing assignments earlier this year.

The Arijit Singh India Tour 2027 will begin in Ahmedabad on January 9 and continue until May, taking the singer to Chandigarh, Jaipur, Mumbai, Bengaluru, New Delhi, Pune, Indore and Hyderabad. The tour is being billed as his biggest India tour so far and will celebrate 20 years of his journey in music.

The schedule has been spread across five months, giving fans in different parts of the country an opportunity to experience Singh’s music live. After Ahmedabad, the tour will move to Chandigarh on January 23 and Jaipur on February 7. Mumbai will host the singer on February 20, followed by Bengaluru on March 13 and New Delhi on March 27. The final three concerts are scheduled for Pune on April 10, Indore on May 1 and Hyderabad on May 15.

The announcement comes months after Singh surprised his enormous fan base by saying he would no longer accept new playback assignments. His decision had raised questions about what the next phase of his career would look like, particularly after years of becoming one of the most recognisable voices in Indian cinema.

His move away from new playback work, however, was never an announcement that he was leaving music. Singh had indicated that he wanted to explore other forms of music and artistic expression. The upcoming India tour now gives audiences a chance to see that next chapter unfold on a live stage.

The timing also makes the concerts particularly significant. Singh is completing 20 years in the music industry, a journey that has taken him from a young singer working behind the scenes to one of India’s most sought-after playback and live performers.

His career has been closely associated with songs that have become part of everyday listening across generations. Tracks such as Tum Hi Ho, Channa Mereya, Agar Tum Saath Ho, Kesariya and Hawayein have helped define his place in contemporary Indian music.

The 2027 concerts are expected to draw from different stages of his career rather than focusing on a single phase. That gives the tour the feel of a musical retrospective, while also allowing Singh to reconnect with listeners who have followed him throughout his career.

The scale of the production is expected to match the significance of the occasion. The concerts are planned as stadium-scale shows, with a multi-level stage and an extended runway designed to bring Singh closer to audiences. Organisers are also preparing an elaborate audiovisual experience featuring 360-degree spatial audio, panoramic screens, kinetic LED installations, laser displays and stadium-scale pyrotechnics.

The tour will be produced and promoted by Team Innovation, with ticketing handled exclusively through thumpN. Ticket sales will begin with cardholder pre-sales before opening to the general public on October 13.

Singh’s return to live touring comes at an interesting moment for India’s concert industry. Large-scale music events have become increasingly popular, with audiences showing a growing willingness to travel and pay for live experiences involving leading Indian artists.

The tour is more personal for Arijit than simply another concert run. It represents a return to direct interaction with the audience after years in which his voice was largely experienced through films, streaming platforms and recorded music.

The singer has described the two-decade journey with gratitude, particularly towards listeners who gave his songs a life beyond the studio and cinema screen. His upcoming concerts will allow him to experience that connection in person.

The nine-city route covers some of India’s biggest music markets, including Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru and Hyderabad, while also taking the tour to Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, Jaipur, Pune and Indore. Notably, Kolkata is absent from the announced itinerary, despite Singh’s strong connection with the city and his roots in West Bengal.

The announcement has already generated considerable excitement among fans, many of whom had wondered whether Singh’s decision to step away from new playback assignments would reduce his public musical presence.

Instead, the 2027 India tour suggests a different direction. Singh may be moving away from the traditional demands of playback singing, but he is not stepping away from his audience.

The concerts will bring together the songs that made him a household name, the memories associated with them and a new live format designed on a much larger scale. After two decades of music, Arijit Singh is choosing to meet his listeners where the relationship began—with the voice, the songs and a stage full of people waiting to sing along.
