CJP protest enters third day at Jantar Mantar

Demonstrators intensify agitation, seeking wider support for their demands

The ongoing protest led by members and supporters of the Constitutional Justice Party (CJP) entered its third consecutive day at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar on Sunday, with demonstrators vowing to continue their agitation until their demands are addressed.

Despite hot weather conditions and overnight stays at the protest site, participants remained steadfast, turning the gathering into a round-the-clock demonstration. Protesters said they were determined to keep pressure on authorities and draw national attention to their concerns.

A key figure in the movement, Abhijeet Dipke, urged farmer organisations, social groups and civil society members from across the country to join the protest. He argued that broader public participation would strengthen the movement and help amplify its message. Supporters responded with slogans and speeches highlighting issues they believe require urgent government attention.

The demonstration has attracted participants from different regions, with many travelling to the national capital to express solidarity. Protest organisers claimed that the movement is gaining momentum as more people become aware of its objectives. They also said the protest would remain peaceful and democratic.

Throughout the day, groups of supporters held discussions, addressed gatherings and interacted with visitors at the protest site. Many participants described the sit-in as a fight for justice and accountability, insisting that sustained public engagement was necessary to achieve meaningful change.

As the agitation entered its third day, there was no immediate indication of a breakthrough. Protest leaders reiterated their commitment to continuing the sit-in and called for more citizens to join what they described as a people’s movement.

Authorities maintained security arrangements around Jantar Mantar as the protest continued. While no major untoward incidents were reported, officials kept a close watch on the gathering due to the increasing number of participants and visitors. The appeal to farmer unions and other organisations is therefore being seen as an effort to broaden the movement’s reach beyond its core supporters.
