Ajit Doval met senior Russian officials in Moscow during a major international security meeting, where discussions focused on terrorism, defence cooperation, and energy ties between India and Russia.
During the visit, Doval held talks with Sergei Shoigu, Secretary of Russia’s Security Council and former Defence Minister. The two leaders reviewed ongoing defence and strategic cooperation between the two countries and discussed regional and global security issues.
Addressing the security forum in Moscow, Doval strongly spoke against terrorism and said there should be “no double standards” in dealing with terror groups and extremist activities. He stressed that all countries must take a firm and united stand against terrorism without selective approaches.
The Indian National Security Advisor highlighted the importance of international cooperation in fighting terrorism, cyber threats, and emerging security challenges. He also underlined the need for stronger coordination among countries to maintain global peace and stability.
Officials said India and Russia also reviewed bilateral cooperation in sectors such as energy, defence production, and strategic partnerships. Russia remains one of India’s key defence and energy partners, with both countries maintaining close ties for decades.
The meeting comes at a time when global geopolitical tensions and security concerns continue to rise. Discussions reportedly included regional developments, global conflicts, and ways to strengthen cooperation on security matters.
Doval’s visit to Moscow is seen as part of India’s continued engagement with major global partners on strategic and security issues. India and Russia have regularly held high-level meetings to review defence projects, military cooperation, and economic partnerships.
