OnePlus has expanded its smartphone portfolio with the launch of the Ace 7 and Ace 7 Pro in China, introducing two performance-focused devices with unusually large batteries and upgraded camera features. Both smartphones come with 9,000mAh batteries, 200-megapixel primary cameras and 100W wired fast charging. The new models are designed to appeal to users who want longer battery life, powerful hardware and a smoother gaming experience.
The battery capacity is among the biggest highlights of the OnePlus Ace 7 series. At 9,000mAh, the batteries are significantly larger than those found in most mainstream smartphones. This could make the devices attractive to people who spend considerable time watching videos, playing games, browsing the internet or using multiple applications throughout the day.
OnePlus claims that the battery can deliver up to 24 hours of video playback under its testing conditions. However, actual battery performance will depend on screen brightness, network connectivity, applications running in the background and individual usage patterns.
The company has also included 100W wired fast charging to reduce the time users spend connected to a charger. The Ace 7 Pro is claimed to reach approximately 60% charge in 30 minutes under specified conditions. The large battery and fast-charging combination could be particularly useful for mobile gamers and people who frequently travel.
Photography is another area where OnePlus has focused its upgrades. Both the Ace 7 and Ace 7 Pro feature a 200-megapixel primary rear camera. The high-resolution sensor is intended to capture detailed images and provide greater flexibility when cropping photographs. However, megapixel count alone does not determine camera quality, which also depends on sensor performance, image processing and lighting conditions.
The two models differ in their secondary camera arrangements. The standard OnePlus Ace 7 comes with an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera, while the Ace 7 Pro gets a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera with 3.5x optical zoom. The additional telephoto lens gives the Pro model an advantage when photographing distant subjects and taking zoom shots.
Both smartphones feature a 6.78-inch 1.5K AMOLED display. The screen supports a refresh rate of up to 165Hz for regular system use and can reach 185Hz in compatible games. A higher refresh rate allows the screen to display more frames per second, making animations and movements appear smoother. This feature is particularly relevant for users who play fast-paced mobile games.
OnePlus has also introduced an active cooling arrangement to manage heat during demanding tasks. The dual-airflow cooling system includes a built-in fan designed to direct airflow towards the chipset and the rear panel. The company says the arrangement can help control temperatures during extended gaming sessions and maintain stable performance. This is an important addition because prolonged gaming can cause smartphones to heat up and affect performance.
The processors also distinguish the two devices. The OnePlus Ace 7 is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 V-series chipset, while the Ace 7 Pro uses the standard Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor. Both are positioned in the premium performance category and are intended to handle demanding games, multitasking and resource-intensive applications.
The smartphones offer configurations with up to 16GB of RAM. The Ace 7 is available with up to 512GB of internal storage, while the Pro model offers a top-end storage option of 1TB. Both devices run ColorOS 17 based on Android 17 in the Chinese market. They also include features such as Wi-Fi 7 connectivity and ultrasonic fingerprint sensors.
The pricing places the new phones in China’s premium smartphone segment. The OnePlus Ace 7 starts at 4,399 Chinese yuan for the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage variant. Other configurations are priced at 4,899 yuan, 5,199 yuan and 5,699 yuan.
The OnePlus Ace 7 Pro starts at 4,799 yuan for its 12GB RAM and 256GB storage version. The higher variants are priced at 5,299 yuan, 5,599 yuan, 5,999 yuan and 7,299 yuan for the 16GB RAM and 1TB storage model. These prices translate to approximately ₹63,000 and ₹69,000 for the respective base variants, but they should not be treated as expected Indian retail prices.
Both smartphones are scheduled to go on sale in China on November 3 through the Oppo online store. OnePlus has not announced an India launch date or local pricing.
The Ace series has previously provided the foundation for OnePlus R-series smartphones in India. This has prompted speculation that the Ace 7 could offer an early indication of what the company may introduce as the OnePlus 16R. However, previous launches show that hardware and specifications can change between Chinese and Indian versions. Buyers should therefore wait for an official announcement before drawing conclusions about the Indian model.
With a 9,000mAh battery, 200MP camera, high-refresh-rate display and dedicated cooling system, the OnePlus Ace 7 series brings several features aimed at performance-conscious smartphone users. Whether these specifications reach India in the same form remains uncertain. The company’s eventual India pricing and launch plans will determine how competitive the devices are in the country’s premium smartphone market.
