Samsung has introduced a 30-month no-cost EMI option for its latest foldable smartphones in India, giving buyers a longer and more manageable way to pay for the premium Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold8 and Galaxy Z Flip8. The new financing option comes as Samsung expands the availability of its latest foldable lineup and looks to make high-end smartphone technology more accessible to Indian consumers.
Under the new 30-month no-cost EMI plan, the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra 256GB is available with a monthly instalment of Rs 6,667. The Galaxy Z Fold8 256GB starts at Rs 6,000 per month, while the Galaxy Z Flip8 256GB can be purchased for Rs 4,167 per month. The plans come with zero down payment, although the 30-month option is available through select financing partners and is subject to applicable terms and conditions.
For consumers who have been interested in foldable phones but found their upfront prices difficult to justify, the longer repayment period could make a noticeable difference. The Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra starts at Rs 1,99,999, the Galaxy Z Fold8 at Rs 1,79,999 and the Galaxy Z Flip8 at Rs 1,24,999 for their respective 256GB variants.
Samsung’s 30-month no-cost EMI is being offered through select partners, including Samsung Finance+, TVS Credit, IDFC First Bank and Poonawalla Fincorp. Samsung says customers can also access 24-month financing through other leading NBFC partners. This gives buyers more flexibility depending on the financing option available to them.
The move is particularly significant for the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Samsung’s new top-end foldable. Its starting EMI of Rs 6,667 is around 9% lower than the monthly instalment associated with the previous-generation Galaxy Z Fold7 under the comparable financing structure, according to the company’s current offer details reported by Times of India.
Beyond the financing push, Samsung is betting heavily on hardware improvements across the new Galaxy Z series. The Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra is positioned as the productivity-focused model and features an 8-inch main display. At 4.1mm when unfolded and weighing 215 grams, it is Samsung’s slimmest Fold design yet. It also features a 200MP primary camera, a 50MP ultra-wide camera, 8K video recording and the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy processor. A 5,000mAh battery and 45W fast charging are included as well.
The standard Galaxy Z Fold8 takes a slightly different approach, focusing on a lighter and more versatile foldable experience. It weighs 201 grams, making it Samsung’s lightest Galaxy Z Fold model so far. The device features a 4:3 main display when unfolded and a 10:16 cover display when closed. Samsung says the design is intended to make everything from messaging and web browsing to gaming, reading and video consumption feel more natural. Its main display can reach a peak brightness of 3,000 nits, while its camera setup includes dual 50MP sensors.
For users who prefer a smaller phone that becomes more compact when folded, the Galaxy Z Flip8 remains the most accessible model in Samsung’s new foldable range. It weighs 180 grams and measures 6.1mm in thickness when unfolded. The phone features a 50MP camera and an AI-focused FlexWindow, allowing users to access apps, information and Gemini-powered features without always opening the device. Samsung has also added features aimed at hands-free photography, including Flex Mode, FlipShot and Cover Screen Mirror.
Artificial intelligence is another major part of Samsung’s new foldable strategy. The Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Fold8 and Flip8 come with expanded Galaxy AI features, including Now Brief and Now Nudge. Samsung says Gemini Intelligence can help users complete tasks in fewer steps, with automation supported across 49 applications and services. The company has also introduced tools to organise notes, images and recordings into structured summaries.
Samsung is also emphasising privacy and security as AI becomes more deeply integrated into smartphones. The new Galaxy Z series uses Samsung Knox along with Knox Enhanced Encrypted Protection and Knox Vault. One UI 9 adds an AI Assistant Activity dashboard, while Enhanced Privacy Alerts are designed to give users greater visibility into AI-related activity and potential privacy risks.
The new financing offer arrives as Samsung sees strong demand for its latest foldable phones in India. The company said its Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Fold8 and Flip8 crossed more than 271,000 pre-orders within 72 hours of their July 22 launch. Samsung noted that the previous-generation Galaxy Z Fold7 and Flip7 took 15 days to reach a similar pre-order figure. The response suggests that foldable smartphones are steadily moving beyond the niche premium segment and attracting a wider group of Indian consumers.
Samsung has also announced early deliveries for customers who pre-booked the new devices. In addition to the 30-month no-cost EMI, buyers can choose from other promotional benefits, including an upgrade offer of up to Rs 10,000 on the Fold8 Ultra and Fold8, or bank/UPI cashback of up to Rs 9,000. For the Flip8, the upgrade offer is up to Rs 5,000, while bank/UPI cashback can go up to Rs 4,000.
The Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra is available in Graphite, Cream, Violet Shadow and online-exclusive Green Shadow. The Galaxy Z Fold8 comes in Graphite, Cream, Lavender and online-exclusive Pistachio, while the Galaxy Z Flip8 is offered in Graphite, Cream, Pink and online-exclusive Mint.
With the new 30-month no-cost EMI plan, Samsung is effectively shifting the conversation around its foldable smartphones from their headline prices to their monthly ownership cost. For buyers who want a premium foldable phone without paying the entire amount upfront, the longer EMI period could make the latest Galaxy Z series considerably easier to consider.
