Microsoft phases out Outlook Lite

Android users must shift to main app by May 25

Microsoft will shut down its Outlook Lite on May 25, 2026, ending support for the lightweight email app launched for low-end devices.

The app, introduced in 2022, was designed to work on smartphones with limited storage and slower internet speeds. However, Microsoft is now consolidating its services and pushing users towards the full-featured Outlook Mobile app.

After the deadline, Outlook Lite will stop functioning, meaning users won’t be able to access emails or other services through it. Microsoft has already disabled new downloads and added an in-app option to help users upgrade.

The company has assured that all user data, including emails and contacts, will remain safe and accessible via the main Outlook app. The shift is aimed at offering a more consistent and feature-rich experience across devices.
