CJP stages protest at Jantar Mantar

Students demand exam reforms, transparency, accountability, and stronger educational governance nationwide

Hundreds of students and young supporters gathered at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi on June 6 as the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) held its first major public protest, raising concerns over examination irregularities and demanding reforms in the education system.

The demonstration was led by CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke, whose youth-led movement has gained popularity on social media. The protest focused on issues affecting students, particularly controversies surrounding NEET and CBSE examinations.

Protesters demanded greater transparency in the conduct of examinations and called for accountability over alleged paper leaks and administrative lapses. Many also sought the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, arguing that repeated controversies have weakened confidence in the education system.

Participants carried books and national flags while raising slogans in support of education reforms. Organisers described the gathering as a peaceful movement aimed at highlighting student concerns rather than a political rally.

Delhi Police had granted permission for the protest and deployed security personnel at the venue to maintain order. Organisers urged participants to remain peaceful and cooperate with authorities throughout the event.

The Cockroach Janta Party started as a satirical online campaign but has evolved into a platform highlighting issues such as student stress, unemployment and governance concerns. In recent months, it has attracted a large following among young people across the country.

Supporters said the protest was intended to draw attention to the challenges faced by students and job seekers and to push for meaningful reforms in education and recruitment systems.
