OnePlus has announced its latest software update schedule, confirming when several smartphones and tablets will receive the Android 17-based ColorOS 17 upgrade. The rollout, which began in November 2026, covers devices across OnePlus, Oppo and Realme, bringing new features, performance improvements and changes to the overall user experience.
The biggest development is the gradual replacement of OxygenOS with ColorOS 17 on supported OnePlus devices. The move marks a significant change in the company’s software strategy and further strengthens its integration with Oppo, which shares its software development resources.
OxygenOS has been an important part of OnePlus’ identity since the brand entered the smartphone market. Its relatively clean interface, customisation options and smooth performance helped distinguish OnePlus devices from other Android smartphones. However, the growing similarities between OxygenOS and Oppo’s ColorOS have made the transition less surprising.
With the latest Android 17 update, supported OnePlus devices will move to ColorOS 17 rather than receive a separate OxygenOS 17 version. The change is expected to bring a more unified software experience across the brands.
OnePlus Android 17 update: November schedule
According to the announced rollout calendar, the OnePlus 13R was among the first devices scheduled to receive the stable ColorOS 17 update, beginning November 5.
The OnePlus 12 is scheduled for November 17, followed by the OnePlus Pad 3 on November 18. The OnePlus Open foldable smartphone is expected to receive the update from November 24.
The OnePlus Nord 6 and Nord CE 6 are included in the November 26 rollout.
The update schedule gives users an indication of when their devices could receive the new software. However, the dates represent the beginning of the rollout and do not guarantee that every user will receive the update immediately. Software distribution generally takes place in phases, depending on the device model, region and carrier requirements.
OnePlus phones scheduled for December 2026 and 2027
The Android 17 rollout will continue over the coming months, with several additional OnePlus smartphones and tablets included in the roadmap.
The December 2026 update list includes the OnePlus 12R, OnePlus 12R Genshin Impact Edition, OnePlus 11, OnePlus Nord 5, Nord CE 6 Lite and Nord CE 5.
The OnePlus Pad 2 and OnePlus Pad Go 2 are also included in the December schedule.
The company plans to extend the update to more devices during the first quarter of 2027. These include the OnePlus Nord 4, Nord N6, Nord N6x, Nord N6 Lite and OnePlus Pad Lite.
This extended rollout indicates that the software transition is not limited to the company’s latest flagship smartphones. Several older flagship, mid-range and tablet models are also part of the update roadmap.
Oppo and Realme smartphones included in November rollout
The ColorOS 17 update schedule also covers a wide range of Oppo and Realme smartphones.
Oppo’s Reno 15 series is scheduled to receive the update from November 18. The eligible devices include the Reno 15 Pro Max, Reno 15 Pro, Reno 15 Pro Mini and Reno 15.
The Reno 15c is expected to receive the update on November 19, while the Reno 15 F is scheduled for November 23.
Other Oppo devices included in the November rollout are the Find N3, Find N3 Flip, Reno 14 Pro, Reno 14, Reno 14 Diwali Edition and Reno 14 F, scheduled for November 24.
The Oppo K14, K14x, F33 and F31 are expected to receive the update on November 25. The K13x and F29 are scheduled for November 26.
Realme has also included several smartphones in its November update calendar. The Realme GT 7 and GT 7 Dream Edition were scheduled for November 5, while the GT 7T is expected to receive the update from November 18.
The November 19 rollout includes the Realme 16 5G, Realme 15 Pro, Realme 15, Realme 15x, Realme 15T, Realme P4 Pro, Realme P4, Narzo 90 and Narzo 90x.
What new features does ColorOS 17 offer?
ColorOS 17 is based on Android 17 and focuses on improving the smartphone experience through interface changes, smoother animations and better system performance.
The update introduces refreshed visual elements, redesigned interface components and additional customisation options. Users can also expect improvements in multitasking, application navigation and overall responsiveness.
Artificial intelligence is another major focus. The software brings AI-powered capabilities designed to simplify everyday tasks, improve productivity and make supported applications more useful.
The company is also focusing on better connectivity between devices, allowing users to manage their digital activities more conveniently across supported products.
However, not every feature will necessarily be available on all smartphones. Availability will depend on hardware specifications, device compatibility and regional software versions.
How to download the Android 17 update
Users with eligible OnePlus, Oppo and Realme smartphones can check for the latest software by opening Settings and navigating to About device. They can then select the software update option to check whether ColorOS 17 is available.
Before installing the update, users should ensure that their devices have sufficient storage space and battery power. Backing up important files and personal information is also advisable before a major operating system upgrade.
The move towards ColorOS 17 marks a new phase in OnePlus’ software strategy. While the update promises improved performance and additional AI features, the gradual disappearance of OxygenOS as a separate platform could be the most significant change for longtime OnePlus users.
