A shocking case of alleged child abuse at a daycare centre inside the Capgemini campus in Bengaluru has sparked widespread concern, with police launching a detailed investigation after disturbing videos of toddlers being mistreated surfaced online.
The alleged incidents came to light after videos, reportedly recorded inside the crèche, showed children being handled roughly by caregivers. The footage quickly spread on social media, prompting outrage among parents and leading authorities to intervene.
Police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) against five women employed at the daycare centre on charges related to child abuse. The accused are alleged to have physically assaulted toddlers under their care, although investigators are still verifying the authenticity of the videos and the sequence of events.
As part of the investigation, police summoned the daycare staff for questioning and have begun examining CCTV footage, electronic devices and other evidence to establish what happened inside the facility. Statements from parents, employees and management are also being recorded.
The daycare, which operates within the Capgemini campus, has come under intense scrutiny following the allegations. Company representatives have assured full cooperation with the investigation and said the safety and well-being of children remain their highest priority. The management has also initiated an internal review and is extending support to the affected families.
The incident has left many parents deeply distressed, with several demanding stricter monitoring of childcare facilities operating within corporate campuses. Child rights activists have also called for stronger regulatory oversight, mandatory background checks for caregivers and the installation of robust surveillance systems to prevent similar incidents.
